Since our arrival in Lugano we had been trying to get to Geneva to visit a friend we know from Ventura. After delightful detours through Zurich and Bern we finally made it.
I didn’t get many pictures, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We hung out at a pool for a while and walked along the river on a beautiful day. It was great, and almost surreal, to see a familiar face so many miles away from where we usually are, and after months of not seeing anyone from home.
I’m so appreciative of all the friends I have on this trip- the old and the new!
The next plan was to get to France. Unfortunately at some point Jason lost his passport so we weren’t sure how it’d go crossing the border. We took a bus to the edge of town where there was a small border crossing. It was a holiday and nobody seemed to be there so we walked on through. No “Welcome to France” sign or anything. We walked farther into the country with our packs, excited to see where the adventure would take us next…
