As is my usual traveling style, I grabbed my camera and set out on foot. The hill in the distance with all the monuments on it looked like a good place to start! The walk through the city to Calton Hill felt mystical, walking on the cobblestone streets, through graveyards, under the magical, looming buildings… then I reached the steps to the hills, got to the top, and saw all the splendor that is Edinburgh from above.
Looking at the view I couldn’t help but reflect how lucky I was and how it was a dream come true to be there. The hills were so green and the water was sparkling underneath the surprisingly clear sky. I did visit the hill one more time before I left and it was a very rainy, yet still beautiful (and muddy) experience.
Here’s some of what I saw from up there!
